Historic Environment Input into Phase 2 Targeting Frequently Asked Questions

Question: What do I do if monuments that should be a high priority for HLS are left out of the Heritage Targeting Dataset because of the limited selection criteria?
We are very interested in hearing suggestions from HERs regarding any additional datasets that they have access to, which they feel will usefully input in the Phase 2 targeting process. If you have data on subsets of monuments that you feel are a priority for HLS that otherwise aren't captured by the SNHD or HTD, we suggest that you put them forward as an 'additional dataset'. You will need to fill out a pro forma describing the datasets that you would like to be considered for integration into the Phase 2 targeting process. The pro forma is called Regional HE Datasets pro forma.xls. It is available for download from the Countryside section of the ALGAO website (www.algao.org.uk). I need to have the completed-pro formas back to me, via email, by 7th February.
Question: What do I do if I use ArcMap, which will only output a small number of records to the GIS?
I understand that some HBSMR users who also use ArcMap have experienced difficulties while trying to follow the instructions given in the 'Procedure for HBSMR Users' document. ExeGesIS inform me that HBSMR can only output a small number of records from the GIS export for Arc and this step is failing. They suggest that a work-around is to go to the map from the index form, which will create a selection set for all of the returned records. From there it should be possible to create a shape file for these selected records. If you are still experiencing problems please contact Elaine Willett (contact details below) for more information.
