Conference: Tree Archaeology

Wednesday, 16 May, 2018 (All day) to Thursday, 17 May, 2018 (All day)

nvestigating Tree Archaeology is a 2-day conference organised by SYBRG taking place in May 2018. Bookings have just opened and include early bird discount packages. The over-arching themes are looking at archaeology and heritage at the core of understanding treescapes.

The event will link the managed woodland or individual tree to their processing and utilisation in historic buildings, in other structures and the processes that transformed one to the other.

It will bring together veteran tree specialists, dendrochronologists, archaeologists, vernacular building architects and technologists, ecologists and woodland historians to discuss the history and technology of woodland management, processes and products.

More details about the conference and online booking is available on the event’s webpage

We will also be holding a 3-day conference in 2019 on a similar theme and the call for papers is open for this event.
